英語村第5回（6月10日）

第5回目の英語村は、6月10日に開催されました。

今回は、Katrina先生からhomophones (“homo”=”same”; “phone”=”sound”, or two words which sound the same but have different meanings) – in Japanese, 同音異義語 – の説明が届きました。

Examples of homophones are “there”, “their” and “they’re” or “Mary”, “merry” and “marry”. Check out her link – it looks fun!

Have you heard of homophones? Homophones are words that are pronounced the same way but have different meanings and spellings. Homophones can be a little difficult to master and can sometimes lead to embarrassing mistakes. Today I’d like to give you a link to a website that made over 50 helpful illustrations to help you learn which spelling goes to which word. Please check it out sometime.
