後期オンライン英語村第1週目 (10月15日)
必修英語の授業内およびS-CLASS掲示でアナウンスしたとおり、後期もオンラインで英語村を開催することが決定しました。本学の学生は毎週木曜日にオンラインでネイティブ講師による英会話のレッスンを無料で受けることができます。後期は10月15日（木）から12月17日（木）までの全10回を予定しています。レッスンの時間や参加方法などの詳細は配布済みのPDF資料を参照してください。
カトリーナ先生、マイケル先生、アラーナ先生の3人が皆さんとの再会を楽しみに待っています。ふるってご参加ください。以下、カトリーナ先生からのメッセージです。
Welcome back to another round of fun conversations, games, and quizzes at the English Village!
Once again the English Village will be hosted on Zoom.
For those who will be joining us for the first time there are three “breakout rooms”:
- Conversation Starter (English level: beginner)
- Quiz Room (English level: advance beginner and intermediate)
- Open Talk (English level: intermediate and advance)
This semester we will have two special events:
- October 29th is Halloween week! Let’s Cosplay!
- December 17th is Christmas! Let’s bring some Holiday Cheer!

後期オンライン英語村第2週目 (10月22日)
大学の周りの山々の紅葉が進み、一段と秋の深まりを感じます。カトリーナ先生の一番好きな季節は秋だそうです。下のエッセイではカトリーナ先生が子供の頃の秋の思い出を語ってくれています。英語村の Open Talkレッスンでは、季節に関する思い出の話をするのも楽しいかもしれませんね。
Have you noticed that the leaves have begun to change color? Autumn is here! Autumn is my favorite season. When I was a child my friends and I would rake the leaves into a large pile and then jump into the pile of leaves. Have you ever played in a pile of leaves?
Next week is Halloween. We will wear a costume and look forward to seeing your costume (REMINDER: you do not have to wear a costume if you don’t want to). When I was young the days leading up to Halloween were often filled with excited planning on how to perform scary pranks, or what costume I would wear, or whether I would go to a party, watch a scary movie, or go trick-or-treating. Do you have a story about Halloween?
